REVIEWS ~ "THE ANGELA BOFILL EXPERIENCE"
On July 22, 2010, Angela Bofill made her return to the stage for the first time since 2006!
The opening of the show at The Rrazz Room, in San Francisco July 22 - 25, marked her first public appearance since her stroke in 2006.
“The Angela Bofill Experience”, is a narrative and musical presentation of the songs most relevant to Angela's career. It Begins with video footage of her jammin’ days in Central Park, and peppered with footage of her appearances on The American Music Awards (with Michael Jackson), The Tonight Show, and Soul Train.
Added to the excitement, of the four night engagement, were special guests, and close friends, Phill Perry and Norman Connors, Kim Waters, and others as well as three members of Angie’s original touring band: Moe Daniels (keyboards), Greg Phillips (drums) and Kevin Walker (bass).
Below are some of the reviews from the extraordianry event!
"Soaring on the wings of the glorious music she made for years, Angela “Angie” Bofill takes flight again, reborn in The Angela Bofill Experience. Angie narrates her story & her music is served up in video clips as well as sung live by Maysa (former lead singer of “Incognito”). An honor and tribute to the gracious spirit and enormous talent of this Latin jazz/R&B artist/ singer/ songwriter, the firepower of talent had the Hotel Nikko’s girders warping. Truly mind-blowing."

"The show was an amazing experience from start to finish. The love that filled the room was ten million times more powerful than anyone could have imagined. It was simply magical. Angie was classic, witty, and beautiful. She is truly amazing, and continues to inspire me."

"Angie's 4-day, 5 show performance in San Francisco was a rousing success, with five sold out shows and great reviews! Congratulations to Angela and her friends Phil Perry, Dave Valentin and Maysa!"

"That Bofill was able to be part of this "Experience" was what made it so extraordinary. She was witty and full of good, often quite racy, humor. She also looked radiant, in a leopard print wrap with her hair and makeup done up like she was on her way to the Presidential Ball. It was nothing short of a love fest. The fact that the star of the evening didn’t really sing – due to stroke-related issues with her voice – didn’t put a damper on the party. This was a celebration of Bofill’s music, and the vocals were handled admirably by Perry and, especially, Maysa, a powerhouse contemporary jazz singer best known for her work in the band Incognito."
